Instead, it turned out in a trip to hospital for him and his two passengers, a $368 fine for driving without due care and $50,000 in damage to a pair of vehicles, the West Vancouver Police Department says.
It happened on Cypress Bowl Road around 3 pm on Wednesday.
Officers arrived on scene and, through investigation, determined that the 20-year-old driver of a 2018 BMW 440i sedan had been travelling westbound on Cypress Bowl Road.
