Coshocton County Engineer Fred Wachtel recently gave his annual report to Coshocton County Commissioners.
About $2 million was spent on road work and $796,279 on bridge work, which most money come from the state.
The engineer s office maintains 350 miles of road with the majority of roads marked to be in good or better condition.
Funding was thought to be down because of less people driving and a grace in BMV renewals by the state.
COSHOCTON – Despite funding dipping some during the COVID-19 pandemic and some mild policy changes, Coshocton County Engineer Fred Wachtel said it was pretty much business as usual for his department in 2020.
Hoffman Estates 2021 Street Revitalization Project this summer will consist of the re-construction of seven streets and the resurfacing of 23 others, village officials said.
The previous top project on the Road Commissionâs list was Marshall Road between State Street and Jonesville Road but that work has been pushed back to the summer of 2022 after construction on the new Branch County Jail is done. Local funding will be used by the Road Commission after the jail construction is complete.
The meeting was held so that local officials and interested citizens can provide input on the allocation of federal funds for use on eligible transportation projects in the area for fiscal year 2021. The Small Urban program provides federal Surface Transportation Program dollars to cities, villages, transit agencies and road commissions which are serving urban areas with populations between 5,000 and 50,000.
Fairfield seeks funds for former bowling alley site project
FAIRFIELD Strings attached to various funding sources could leave a money gap to build out the full vision the city has for the old Fairfield Bowl site on North Texas Street.
The City Council on Tuesday agreed to submit an $8.5 million application to the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program to fund the Linear Park Trail Revitalization – Node 4A Project.
The city had applied during a previous round of funding, but the project was not chosen. State officials advised Fairfield not to include the recreation facility in its next application.
