It is eight in the morning. You’re arriving back home from working a late shift. You are walking from your car to your front door when three men get out of their car parked across the street. They shout at you and start running toward you. You can see that they are armed. You run for your front door.
You make it inside your home and lock the door. You grab your gun from the closet. Seconds later, the three men break through your door. You shoot them. They shoot back. Your wife yells at them to stop shooting because there are children in the home. The intruders tell them to get on the floor. Eventually, the rest of your family escapes out the back door. The bad guys are now outside yelling at you. They say they are the police. You stop shooting and yell for them to stop shooting. You put down your gun and walk outside with your hands in the air.
You left the market and are walking back to your car in the dark. Two young men cross between the cars. They shout at you. A second later, one of them has a gun pointed at you. They want your money and your phone. Just that fast you’re being robbed.
You have your Ohio concealed carry license. You own a gun and you’re carrying it tonight. The news story doesn’t say how, but you shoot your attacker. He shoots too. He is critically wounded. You are shaken, but unhurt. You and the other robber run away. You call 911.
You hear someone knocking at your door. It is one in the morning and the voices say they are your neighbor and need your help right away. You tell your girlfriend that you’ll answer the door. You roll out of bed and slip your gun into the pocket of your PJs. You open the door and two strangers push their way into your home. One of them grabs you and throws you across the room. You roll on your side and get your gun out of your pocket. You shoot your attackers four times. Now, they run from your house. On the street, you see a woman sitting in a car with the engine running. You shout that you’ve called the police. She drives away and you lock the door.
You and your friend are driving at about 10:30 at night. You pull over to use a convenience store. You go inside and your passenger stays in the car. You’re heading back outside when you see two men in a dark SUV pull up next to your car. They pound on the window and door and tell your friend to get out of the car. They point guns at your passenger.
You own a firearm. You have your Pennsylvania concealed carry permit. Tonight, you’re armed. You draw your firearm and shoot the carjackers. You hit one of the attackers in the chest. The other attacker dives back into his car and drives away.
Your family is in the car with you. You stop at your local bank to use the walk-up ATM. The sun is low in the sky as you go back to the car with your cash. That is when a stranger runs up to you. The stranger has a machete in his hands and tells you to give him the cash. He waves the knife at you and you back up.
You have your New Mexico Concealed carry permit. You’re armed. Your attacker comes closer again and you draw your gun. You shoot your attacker one time in the chest. Now your attacker turns away and runs back to his car. You retreat to your car as well. Your wife saw the attack, heard the shot, and called 911. You stay at the scene and give a report to the police.
