Concerned about increasing reports of violence against women, members of the La Romaine-Gulf City Taxi Drivers Association decided to adopt a dress code. The move is geared towards making passengers, especially females, feel safer while travelling.
Passengers can now easily identify legitimate taxi drivers as a result.
The launch of the uniforms (coloured custom-designed shirts with the driver’s name) took place on Thursday at Harris Promenade in San Fernando.

The country may still be in lockdown and non-essential shops still closed to walk in customers, but Mold Town Council are delighted to welcome these brand new essential businesses which opened in the area last month. First to open their doors on February 18 was family butchers, Daniel Morris, who opened on the Upper High Street in the town. The family butchers who already have a shop in Denbigh, were delighted to expand their business with the opening of the new shop in Mold and have been overwhelmed with the welcome they have received from the local community.
