Denison salutes Top 10, Class of 2021 DISD In spite of challenges caused by the nation’s worst pandemic in history, Denison High School’s Class of 2021 graduating seniors are looking forward with great excitement to Saturday May 22nd at 8:30 p.m. when they’ll make the time-honored trip across Munson’s historic graduation stage to proudly accept their diplomas. Because the ceremonies will be outdoors, masks will not be required, but social distance guidelines will be enforced. Only graduates will be seated on the field. In case of rain on Saturday, graduation will be moved to Sunday night at 8:30. If it rains on Sunday night, the program will be moved to the DHS gymnasium and each senior will be issued four tickets to distribute to family.

In what ways does it help PFW students? TRIO programs are federal outreach and student service programs designed to help first-generation students prepare and complete college degrees. TRIO programs were authorized in the Higher Education Act of 1965 by President Lyndon B. Johnson as an initiative in the War on Poverty. The TRIO name refers to the original set of three programs authorized in the legislation (Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search and Student Support Services); however, today TRIO now includes a total of seven educational-opportunity programs.

RON GIBBENS, NDAD s CO-FOUNDER AND LONGTIME LEADER, DIES AT 80 SPECIAL TO DEVILS LAKE  JOURNAL The co-founder, retired chief executive officer and only board president in the nearly 46-year existence of charitable nonprofit NDAD has died. Ron Gibbens died in hospice care Sunday morning at the Grand Forks home of his son, Mike. Inspired by Mike, their only child, who has cerebral palsy, Ron and Faye Gibbens built the charitable nonprofit North Dakota Association for the Disabled from an informal Grand Forks support group for parents of children with disabilities. Since its 1975 inception, NDAD since has provided more than $60 million in program services for people with disabilities and health concerns from its offices in Grand Forks, Fargo, Minot and Williston. NDAD has charitable gaming operations and owns a for-profit business to generate the funds needed to support its charitable services statewide.
