Mike Bink Tyrannosaurus rex couldn't run without shattering its bones, so its max walking speed was 25 mph. But a new study suggests the dinosaur's preferred walking pace was even slower: just 3 mph. The research indicates humans and T. rexes had similar walking speeds. For all the awe Tyrannosaurus rex inspires, the "king of the dinosaurs" wasn't very speedy.
