Mike Polk Jr looks at Ohio s Vax-a-Million

The Vax-a-Million model: Mike Polk Jr. on other ways we can help improve Ohio Why stop here? I think we should keep this cash-prize-in-exchange-for-desirable-behavior-model going even after the pandemic. It sure seems effective. Author: Mike Polk Jr. (WKYC) Published: 7:56 PM EDT May 25, 2021 Updated: 8:05 PM EDT May 25, 2021 CLEVELAND Well the first Vax-a-Million winner is about to be announced so let me ask ya: Who’s feeling lucky Ohio!? I know one person who probably does feel lucky right now is the guy behind the program, Mike DeWine or Mike “Big Columbus” DeWine, if you prefer his old-timey riverboat gambler name.    According to the governor, the Vax-a-Million is already quite successful, with vaccinations surging across the state and across all demographics.

DeWine s Unconventional Vaccine Lottery Could Be Smart, and Even Thrifty, Public Policy

Posted By Sam Allard on Thu, May 13, 2021 at 9:18 AM Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine All Coronavirus health orders except those that pertain to nursing homes and assisted living facilities will be lifted on June 2, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced in a special press event Wednesday evening. That includes statewide mask mandates. DeWine made the decision to lift the orders under immense political pressure. He can expect a vicious primary challenge from the right next year, and his opponents can be counted upon to use the Governor s health orders as a central campaign talking point. But demand for vaccinations in Ohio has plummeted. Right now, the state is only using about 20% of its federal allotment of doses, and vaccinations sites across the state are reducing their operations in response to dwindling demand.

Mike Polk Jr gives us a look at National Zoo Lovers Day

Mike Polk Jr. celebrates National Zoo Lovers Day Judging by the crowds of other happy zoo lovers today, there s no shortage of fun to be had! Author: Mike Polk Jr. (WKYC) Published: 6:51 PM EDT April 8, 2021 Updated: 7:55 PM EDT April 8, 2021 CLEVELAND I’ve tried to make a conscious effort to spend some time at the zoo every year on April 8 ever since I found out yesterday that April 8 is National Zoo Lovers Day. Today, I kept that tradition alive by going to the zoo. The zoo rules. In honor of NZLD (that’s what we hardcore ZLs call it, for short), here are 10 fascinating but true animal facts that I got from the National Geographic website, followed by 10 largely untrue facts about those facts that I mostly made up.
