VCU aiming to get ‘hunger back’ in NCAA Tournament against Oregon Ducks

EUGENE Like Oregon, VCU enters the NCAA Tournament coming off a loss in its conference tournament.
The No. 10 seed Rams (19-5) lost to St. Bonaventure, 74-65, in the Atlantic 10 final on Sunday, hardly an embarrassing defeat, but some of the statistics didn’t sit well. One of the best defensive teams in the country, VCU allowed the Bonnies to shoot 8 of 19 (42.1%) from three-point range, well above the Rams’ season average of 30.5% against.
In preparing to face No. 7 seed Oregon (20-6), which ranks 22nd nationally in shooting 37.9% from behind the arc, VCU recognizes the volume of Ducks who pose shooting threats.

VCU is going dancing again. The Rams (19-7) are headed to a second consecutive NCAA Tournament after they were selected as an at-large berth Sunday.
VCU is seeded 10th in the West Region and will take on seventh-seeded Oregon (20-6) in the first round on Saturday in Indianapolis.

Ben Askren has enlisted the help of legendary boxing coach Freddie Roach ahead of his anticipated showdown with YouTube celebrity Jake Paul.
Askren, the former ONE Championship and Bellator welterweight titleholder, will meet Paul in an eight-round pro boxing match on April 17. The bout will air on pay-per-view at a price of $49.99.Â
Ahead of the fight, Askren made a pitstop in Los Angeles to absorb the wisdom of the legendary Roach, who has previously handled boxers like Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., as well as former UFC champ Georges St-Pierre.
