That will be decided at this summer’s Expansion Draft, an event at which 30 of the NHL’s 31 teams will lose a player to the Kraken. All NHL teams with one exception must submit a list of players to the Kraken who are protected from being selected by the new expansion team. The Vegas Golden Knights, Seattle’s expansion sibling from 2017, are exempt from the upcoming Expansion Draft. The NHL is again offering all participating teams two options for their protection lists. Teams can choose either of the following configurations:

Arizona Coyotes release opening night roster and taxi squad

Today, they announced the opening night roster which will feature three goaltenders, seven defensemen, and thirteen forwards. There are very few surprises when it comes to the roster. Barrett Hayton and Kyle Capobianco both made the roster. Both players have been on the edge of being full-time NHL players, and starting with the team is a sign that they have developed positively. Ilya Lyubushkin was not listed on the roster as he is currently dealing with immigration/visa issues per the Coyotes.
