Biden Faces Inflation Worries | National Review

Even while pushing $6 trillion in spending and mass-producing executive orders, Joe Biden has run the country much as he ran his campaign quietly. So long to that luxury.

Caitlyn Jenner: Yes, California s illegals should have a path to citizenship

Tweet When you’re running for governor of a state where a plurality of the population is Latino, I guess you’re required to be a little squishier on immigration than the average Republican is nationally. Although, in fairness to Jenner, she’s not much more moderate on this issue than the average Republican is. She’s more moderate than the average MAGA Republican, but a Morning Consult poll taken in January found 39 percent of GOPers support a path to citizenship for illegals while another 19 percent support legal residency without citizenship. Only 36 percent favor deportation. That’s a solid majority in favor of letting “the undocumented” stay among a party that’s otherwise all but unanimously supportive of border hawk Donald Trump.

Coronavirus Origin: Let s Look at the Wuhan Labs Again

(Thomas Peter/Reuters) On the menu today: The Chinese space program is about as careful and safety-conscious as the Chinese viral-research program; a deep look at the mounting evidence pointing to a lab leak; and why other companies can’t just rush out and make more doses of the Pfizer vaccine, even if the Biden administration suspends the patent. What the Chinese Space Program Can Tell Us about the Wuhan Labs

Massachusetts town: We re keeping our outdoor mask mandate for now despite the new CDC guidance

AP Photo/Ringo H.W. Chiu This isn’t science, Jonathan Last notes correctly. It’s the blue-state version of the COVID culture war. With a dash of pandemic-era neuroticism about safety and security thrown in. Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, a moderate Republican, lifted the state’s outdoor mask mandate last week in accordance with the CDC’s new guidance. Whether you’re vaccinated or not, the agency said, it’s fine to take off your mask outside so long as you keep your distance from strangers. Baker signed off on that, at which point local leaders in Brookline said: No thanks. “Out of an abundance of caution and in our residents’ best interests, the Town of Brookline will not follow suit with the state’s decision to lift the outdoor mask mandate today,” the town’s top health official said. “Our face covering requirement has served as a protective layer that limits the possibility of spreading COVID-19 and we are reluctant to relax it at this time without fur

Douglas Andrews: Biden, Masks, and the American Sheeple — The Patriot Post

One wonders whether Joe Biden had the self-awareness to notice last week that so few of the 40 world leaders in the virtual room for his two-day “climate summit” were wearing a mask. Biden, as seen on numerous video snapshots, appeared at times to be the only masker there. We’re told by the always-helpful fact-checkers that he wasn’t, but he was nonetheless the leader of a tiny and embarrassingly conspicuous minority. (COVID, for the record, is not a computer virus — it can’t leap through the ether and nail us from afar.) What, though, must those other world leaders have thought about the American president? Hadn’t he already been vaccinated? (Answer: yes.)
