August 3, 2021 by:
Disney brought us a little seasonal cheer last year with
The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, but this time around, things will be a little...spookier. Disney announced today that
LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales will debut on Disney+ on
October 1, 2021. The animated special will be a "celebration of the villainous dark side of the Star Wars galaxy – just in time for Halloween."
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,
LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales will follow Poe Dameron and BB-8 as they make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet of Mustafar where they need the greedy and conniving Graballa the Hutt, who has purchased Darth Vader's castle and is renovating it into the galaxy's first all-inclusive Sith-inspired Luxury hotel. "While waiting for his X-Wing to be repaired, Poe, BB-8, Graballa, and Dean (a plucky and courageous young boy who works as Graballa’s mechanic) venture deep into the mysterious castle with Vader’s loyal servant, Vaneé," reads the official synopsis. "Along the way, Vaneé shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars. As Vaneé spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges. With the help of Dean, Poe and BB-8 will have to face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising, and escape to make it back to their friends." The voice-cast for LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales features Jake Green as Poe Dameron; Raphael Alejandro as Dean; Dana Snyder as Graballa the Hutt; Tony Hale as Vaneé; Christian Slater as Ren; Trevor Devall as Emperor Palpatine; Mary Elizabeth McGlynn as NI-L8; and Matt Sloan as Darth Vader.

‘Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami’ Season 1
A companion piece to the director Billy Corben’s 2006 documentary “Cocaine Cowboys,” this five-part series tells another story drawn from the wild 1980s era of Miami drug trafficking. Corben and his team look back at the heyday of Augusto “Willy” Falcon and Salvador “Sal” Magluta, two Cubans who hustled their way to fame and fortune, seemingly always one step ahead of the authorities. The action and glamour of Miami provide the backdrop to a stylish and engrossing true-crime saga.
