Australia leads the pack with 34 shortlisted entries.
Effie Asia Pacific has announced that the final round of judging has concluded and 123 entries have emerged as finalists to compete for awards at this year’s show.
These 123 finalists were shortlisted following week-long deliberations from some 120 jurors. Due to the pandemic, this is the second year running where the final round of judging was conducted virtually, with jurors dialling in from across the region and beyond to participate.
The final round of judging was led by the Awards Chairman, Ashish Bhasin of Dentsu International, and the 8 Heads of Jury – Alex Lubar of McCann Worldgroup, Annette Male of Wunderman Thompson, Christina Lu of AliExpress, Erica Kerner of ONE Championship, Michelle Hutton of Edelman, Shubhranshu Singh of Royal Enfield, Sindhuja Rai of Mondelez International and Takashi Takeda of DoubleVerify.
“The benefit there is you’re not limited by contribution limits, a family can loan money into the company and then have that company invest money from them and earn income on those investments.
“It’s taxed at the company rate of 30%, rather than perhaps the top marginal tax rate if they were to invest that money in their own name.
“That’s not as good as superannuation, which is why it should be part of the strategy and perhaps the major part of the strategy.”
For that reason, Hutton said investment companies had come into play more often with discussions with wealthier clients.
