Director Agriculture reviews progress of farmers welfare schemes

JAMMU, Feb 17: Director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Department Jammu, Inder Jeet chaired a virtual meeting of the officers of the department to review the progress regarding implementation of various farmers’ welfare schemes and programmes.
The physical and financial components under Centrally Sponsored Schemes and CAPEX Budget in all the districts for the financial year 2020-21 were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
Director Agriculture impressed upon the officers to create massive awareness regarding various ongoing farmers’ welfare schemes at grass root level. He took detailed review of status and progress of Atam Nirbhar Bharat, Agri-Infrastructure Development Fund, PM-FME, KCC, PM-KISAN, Formation of FPOs, Formulation of new projects under NABARD, Mushroom, Apiculture, Organic Clusters, Farm Mechanizat

New Delhi, Feb 9 : The Centre on Tuesday said that as part of the AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries has launched the centrally sponsored PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme for providing financial, technical and business support for upgradation of two lakh micro food processing enterprises.

M.A. SRIRAM Agriculture Minister B.C. Patil on Tuesday called upon farmers to process and add value to their products before branding and marketing them.
Speaking after the formal launch of a farmer training programme under the Prime Minister’s Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises at the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) here, he said the Agriculture Department, which was hitherto restricting itself to supporting farmers till the harvest of crop, had now come forward to prepare farmers to play a role in the marketing and sale of produce.
