AMD chief executive Lisa Su ushered in the new lineup of mobile chips as part of her keynote address at CES 2021, now held virtually rather than in Las Vegas. Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 to reportedly have AMD-powered models
Microsoft is reportedly working on two new devices under its Surface lineup Microsoft Surface Pro 8 and Surface Laptop 4. Interestingly, the report indicates that the Surface Laptop 4 could come with an option for AMD chipset.
When the Redmond-based tech giant launched the Surface Laptop 3 in October 2019, it became the first device to come packed with a modified version of AMD Ryzen 3700U and AMD Ryzen 5 3500U. Now, for its successor as well, the company will have an AMD variant for better optimization, reports WindowsLatest.

While the specifications of the upcoming Surface Laptop 4 are not yet known, the device will be offering in two chipset variants Intel and AMD. Unlike the predecessor, which offers AMD variant only for the 15-inch model, the upcoming laptop will offer an AMD option for the 13.5-inch model as well.
