The year is underway! January-February 2021
Australian Flying is now on the shelves and in the letter boxes. It s a mixed bag of all the good things about general aviation and is geared to spark optimism for 2021 after a year that was a bit of a downer. We ve looked at the impact of automation, FS2020, videoing, LSAs, low-level airspace and a heap of other things. If you haven t added this one to your library, grab your face mask and head for the nearest newsagent now. Here s what you ll find beneath the great cover shot of a Carbon Cub.
Fans of
Microsoft Flight Simulator will be delighted to learn that you’ll soon to able to pilot an F-15 in the game.
The fighter jet simulation was created by a team of third-party developers called DC Designs, which has currently scheduled a release window in January for the add-on. Aside from the standard fourth-generation F-15, there’ll be four variants for you to choose from: the F-15C (air superiority), the F-15D (combat capable trailer), the F15-E (Strike Eagle) and the F-15I from the Israel Defense Force.
In addition to flying the jet, players will also be able to select the type of ordnance loadout for it, although there’s no indication so far that you’ll be able to fire them. Another restriction from the game relates to the speed of the plane the F-15 can reach speeds of up to Mach 2.5, which is roughly 2,000 mph, and the game has a native barrier that prevents you from reaching these speeds, meaning you’ll have to disable that barrier for the full experienc

The Microsoft Flight Simulator video game series is likely to have an F-15 Eagle fighter jet add-on this month after a third-party team of developers decided to work on introducing it to the platform.
Microsoft Flight Simulator, also known as MSFS or FS, is a series of amateur flight simulator programs for Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Being an early product in the Microsoft application portfolio, the series is one of the longest-running, best known, and one of the most comprehensive home flight simulators currently available in the market.
Reports suggest the add-on feature, which has been developed by DC Designs, could be available to consumers as early as January 18.
A third-party team of developers is making an F-15 Eagle add-on for
Microsoft Flight Simulator. DC Designs lists a January release window on its website; YouTuber Obsidian Ant has already had a go, and says it could be ready for consumers as soon as Jan. 18. You can watch his test flight embedded above and on YouTube.
The F-15 add-on will come with four variants of the iconic fourth-generation tactical fighter jet, including the F-15C (air superiority), D (combat-capable trailer), E (Strike Eagle), and I (a variant used by the Israel Defense Forces). While virtual pilots will be able to select and load ordnance, it’s not clear if you’ll actually be able to fire the guns or release other kinds of payloads. Given that the game doesn’t even show a crash animation, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
