Human remains found in Casco

According to State Police, the skeletal remains were found near a home in Casco over the weekend Credit: Getty Images Published: 2:23 PM EDT May 10, 2021 Updated: 3:08 PM EDT May 10, 2021 CASCO, Maine Maine State Police are investigating the discovery of human remains in Casco over the weekend. According to a release from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit South, the skeletal remains were found near a home at 196 Poland Springs Road Saturday afternoon.  Police said a family member was cleaning out the home of their late father Douglas Scott, 82, who died earlier this year when the remains were found in an outbuilding on the property. The person called the Cumberland County Sheriff s Department to report what they had found.

By Stephen BettsThe Courier-Gazette Share OWLS HEAD Rockland detectives and officers with the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit located a body in a pond in a field in Owls Head on Thursday. The pond is several hundred yards from Route 73 across from the entrance to the Owls Head Transportation Museum. Police found the body around 3 p.m. A Rockland police cruiser pulled off Route 73 in Owls Head near a field where a body was found in a pond on Thursday.

Rockland police say the body was found off Route 73 in Owls Head Thursday afternoon Credit: Getty Images/iStockphoto Published: 5:14 PM EDT April 29, 2021 Updated: 5:18 PM EDT April 29, 2021 OWLS HEAD, Maine A body was found in wetlands in Owls Head Thursday afternoon, Rockland police said in a release. According to the Rockland Police Department, their detectives, as well as detectives from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit, found the body off Route 73. Fire departments from Owls Head and Thomaston assisted police with recovering the body. Rockland police said the body was transported to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy and so they can make a positive identification.

Witnesses say he appeared to be in a delusional state. He has not been seen or heard from since. Police say numerous leads and interviews have been conducted over the years with no resolution. The Alex family has offered a reward regarding Jeremy s case and State Police detectives continue their investigation. The case is considered a suspicious missing persons case.
