Blinken is the 2nd Biden Administration official to visit Delhi this year, after United States Secretary of Defense, General (Retd.) Lloyd J. Austin.
This will also be his 4th meeting with EAM Jaishankar, after meetings in London, Washington, and Italy.
New Delhi: Ahead of US Secretary of state Antony J. Blinken s India visit, Washington has described India as a critical partner in the region with both countries having a shared interest in a stable and secure Afghanistan . Blinken will be in Delhi on 27th and 28th July, his first to the Indian capital since the new Biden administration took charge. In India, he will call on PM Narendra Modi and hold talks with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and external affairs minister Dr. S Jaishankar.

The Ministry of External Affairs said in New Delhi that National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will also meet US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

WASHINGTON: Expanding the US-India cooperation on security, defence and counterterrorism and matters like the situation in Afghanistan, Quad, COVID-19 and climate change will be on top of the agenda of Secretary of State Antony Blinken during his maiden trip to India next week, according to a senior American official.
Blinken is scheduled to arrive in New Delhi late on July 27.
India and Pakistan should work together to resolve bilateral issues: US

India and Pakistan need to work with each other to resolve their bilateral issues, the United States has said, observing that it had always encouraged the two neighbours to build a more stable relationship going forward. With regard to India-Pakistan, I would just note that we strongly believe that India and Pakistan s issues are ones for them to work out between themselves, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Dean Thompson told reporters during a conference call here on Friday.

Washington DC [US], July 24 (ANI): USSecretary of StateAntony Blinken plans to discuss ways to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan during talks with Indian leadership next week, a top State Department official told reporters on Friday.
Blinken, during his India visit next week, will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar and discuss a wide range of issues including Indo-Pacific engagement and shared regional security interests.
During a special briefing, Acting Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Dean Thompson said, “Our bilateral discussions with our Indian partners will focus on expanding our security, defense, cyber, and counterterrorism cooperation.
