Representative image GUWAHATI: Assam in the last 24 hours reported 27 new Covid-19 cases, and among the infected are five students of the Central Institute of Technology (CIT). The Kokrajhar district administration promptly declared the entire CIT complex as a containment zone last evening. This is the highest number of positive cases detected in the last 10 days in the state, but the positivity rate still continues to remain under 1%. The five students of CIT were detected positive on Thursday during the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at the RNB Civil Hospital, Kokrajhar. Bihung Brahma, dean (I/C) Student Affairs, CIT told TOI, “On Thursday 490 students underwent RAT and no one tested positive fortunately.” Brahma said as per the administration order, no entry and exit of people will be allowed, and vehicular movement will be strictly prohibited.
