Here is a list of closures, which will be updated as more are announced: Best Friends Daycare locations in central Pennsylvania are closing at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank is closing at noon on Wednesday. Hershey’s Chocolate World is closed from 3 p.m. Wednesday to noon Friday. Hersheypark and the Sweet Lights attraction will be closed Wednesday and Thursday with plans to reopen on Friday. Tickets are valid through Jan. 3, and reservations can be modified online.

Finding a new way of giving

WILLIAMSPORT — Celebrating the holiday season in 2020 will certainly be different than past years, but some companies and caring individuals are still finding a way to spread some holiday cheer. Companies are cancelling holiday office parties to keep their employees safe, but donating the allocated funds to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. Families would gather at a local restaurant where we took over an entire room, had appetizers and dinner and shared ridiculous games and gifts, he said. It has been a wonderful event that made our work team more like family. This year with COVID concerns, we were disappointed to be forced to cancel but saw a new opportunity to give. pcrossley@sungazette.com Christmas shoppers this year will find the season a little quieter as bell ringers will not be as plentiful as in the past as the American Rescue Workers have chosen not to participate in this annual tradition. “We came to that decision because primarily our bell ringers are our shelter residents,” said Kendra Parke, marketing and community engagement coordinator at ARW. “Throughout this whole COVID ordeal we’re trying to limit their exposure to the public as much as we possibly can, so we made the decision to pull the guys from going out and bell ringing for us,” she added.
