LAS VEGAS â The Las Vegas Strip and surroundings will fully reopen to vaccinated diners, dancers, shoppers and club-goers beginning June 1.
Clark County lawmakers on Tuesday followed CDC guidelines and dropped plans to tie business occupancy to coronavirus vaccination rates.
The unanimous vote came after public speakers expressed anger and frustration with pandemic restrictions â especially their effects on schoolchildren.
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak on Friday aligned state requirements with CDC recommendations issued a day earlier. The CDC says fully vaccinated people can stop social distancing and mask-wearing outdoors in crowds and in most indoor settings.
Most Las Vegas casinos have already returned to 100% occupancy and no social distancing under oversight of the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Taipei, May 18 (CNA) Taiwan on Tuesday confirmed 245 new cases of COVID-19, of which 240 were classified as domestically transmitted infections, as well as two deaths from the disease.
Of the new domestic cases, 128 were female and 112 were male, with the youngest under 5 years of age and the oldest over 90, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said.
New Taipei reported the most cases, at 106, of which 33 were reported in Zhonghe District. Taipei had the second highest number, at 102, with 48 reported in Wanhua District.

COVID-19: Online virus chatbot set up for migrant workers

The Ministry of Labor yesterday said it has set up an automated chatbot service on the messaging app Line to provide migrant workers with easier access to COVID-19 information in their native language.
Called “1955 E-Line,” the Workforce Development Agency said the service was set up to ensure migrant workers can access disease prevention information.
Available in four languages English, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thai the service focuses on promoting information related to disease prevention efforts, the agency said.
The agency said that it plans to provide more information through the Line service, including regulations on the employment of migrant workers, frequently asked questions and other information pertaining to living in the nation.
