Fifth pilot confirmed with virus
EXPANDED TESTING: The CECC is investigating the source of infection and has identified 14 close contacts of the pilot, who last flew to Japan before testing positive

Another airline pilot has been diagnosed with COVID-19, and a man who was found dead during quarantine last week was also infected, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reported yesterday.
Centers for Disease Control Deputy Director-General Chuang Jen-hsiang (莊人祥), who is the CECC’s spokesman, said the pilot was screened in an expanded testing program on Thursday and his test came back positive.
He is the fifth China Airlines (CAL, 華航) cargo plane pilot to test positive for COVID-19 over the past week.

As such, he was allowed to return to his hotel for the rest of his quarantine period, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said.

TAIPEI (The China Post) â The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC, ä¸å¤®æµè¡ç«æ ææ®ä¸å¿) announced on Friday that a China Airlines pilot tested positive for the COVID-19 virus in Australia.
According to the CECC, the cargo plane pilot had symptoms of an itchy throat and acquired a test in Australia.
Close contacts of this pilot were subsequently tested and a family member (case 1090) was confirmed to have contracted the virus today.
Case 1090 is an Indonesian boy in his teens who had no recent travel history and reported dry throat and dizziness on April 22; the infection was confirmed today.
