A total of 2,991 people associated with a COVID-19 cluster infection at Taoyuan General Hospital have been put under home isolation, after an emergency expanded isolation order was issued on Sunday evening, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said yesterday.
Fifteen people have so far tested positive in the cluster infection. The first case in the cluster (case No. 838) was reported on Jan. 12 a doctor who treated an infected patient who had returned from the US.

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) yesterday released the names of five public spaces that two previously confirmed COVID-19 cases had visited from Tuesday last week to Saturday.
The center on Sunday reported two cases of COVID-19 a married couple in their 60s who are linked to a recent cluster infection at Taoyuan General Hospital, in which 15 people have tested positive.
The husband, case No. 889, was treated at the hospital’s ward 12A from Jan. 8 to Jan. 11, and sought treatment twice last week for other health conditions. His wife, case No. 890, had accompanied him when he was hospitalized.

Taipei, Jan. 24 (CNA) Taiwan on Sunday recorded two more domestic COVID-19 cases linked to a recent cluster infection at Taoyuan General Hospital, where the number of cases has now increased to 15, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
One of the new cases is a Taiwanese man in his 60s who stayed at the hospital from Jan. 8-11 due to health problems unrelated to COVID-19, said Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-chung (陳時中), who heads the CECC, at a press conference in Taipei.
He developed a rash from Jan. 16-18, which improved after he saw a doctor, and then experienced chills and fatigue a few days later, Chen said.

The Central Epidemic Command Center ï¼CECCï¼ announced an emergency expanded isolation order last night, effective immediately, after earlier reporting two more COVID-19 cases associated with a cluster infection at Taoyuan General Hospital.
Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-chung ï¼é³æä¸ï¼, who heads the center, said that one of the new cases is a man in his 60s ï¼case No. 889ï¼, who was admitted to the hospital from Jan. 8 to Jan. 11.
