CMU to Host COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Clinic April 23

This Friday, April 23, Central Michigan University and the Central Michigan District Health Department will be offering free COVID-19 shots for CMU students and the community for ages 18 and up. The mass vaccination clinic will take place at the CMU Finch Fieldhouse from 10 AM – 6 PM. Organizers ask for attendees to park in lots 10, 18, 27, or 28. Those who are interested need to register ahead of time here.
On the day of the appointment:
1. Bring a photo ID
2. Bring your insurance card with you
3. Wear a short sleeve shirt
CADILLAC â On April 11, 2020 Wexford County lost its first person to COVID-19, state data shows.
In the one year and three days since then, 29 more people from the county died of COVID-19.
On April 15, District Health Department No.10 s daily COVID-19 update showed two more deaths since the day before, bringing the county s total COVID-19 deaths to 30.
State data shows deaths climbing steadily in Wexford County since November.
Wexford County lost four people to the novel coronavirus between April 11 and June 29 of 2020.
Then there were no COVID-19 deaths in the county until Nov. 3, 2020. Deaths continued until Dec. 31, when Wexford County lost the county s 18th person to the virus.

MECOSTA COUNTY More than 200 people in Mecosta County tested positive for COVID-19 last week, according to data recently posted by District Health Department No. 10.
DHD No. 10 confirmed 203 cases in Mecosta County between Sunday, April 4, and Saturday, April 10, with the highest one-day total occurring Wednesday, April 7, (51). Cases during this time period included care worker, worksite exposure, sports, recent travel, college, school, community contact and household contact.
Over the weekend (Saturday-Monday), DHD No. 10 identified 77 new cases and one death, for a total of 2,471 cases since the pandemic began in March 2020. Of those cases, 1,930 individuals have recovered, 26 have died and 515 are considered still active.
CADILLAC â Both Central Michigan District Health Department and District Health Department No. 10 are describing surges in their jurisdiction.
