St Cloud Man Arrested for Allegedly Selling Fake Heroin

Stearns County Jail (KNSI) – A 37-year-old St. Cloud man was arrested after allegedly selling fake heroin. The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force used a confidential informant to buy 4.9 grams of heroin from Todd Chauvin on October 6th. The substance was then sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for analysis, which came back as non-controlled, meaning Chauvin sold a “fake or simulated substance.” He was charged with third-degree felony sale of narcotics and felony manufacturing or selling non-controlled substances as a narcotic. His next court appearance is in March.

By Dene Dryden Pixabay (KNSI) – A St. Cloud man faces charges after authorities say they found fake Percocet pills and a handgun with its serial number removed during a search warrant Thursday. The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force says it learned about a person selling fake Percocet pills containing fentanyl that may be linked to several drug overdoses in the region. After investigators bought some of the pills from the suspect, the task force issued a search warrant for 27-year-old Abdiaziz Ibrahim’s home in the 2000 block of 27th Street Southeast in St. Cloud. The St. Cloud Police Department SWAT team was also involved in the search.
