PUTRAJAYA, March 9 Enforcement of the Workers’ Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act 1990 (Act 446) could, among others, help redeem Malaysia’s image in managing foreign workers, said Human Resource Minister, Datuk Seri M. Saravanan.
He said the ministry which had an important role in redeeming this image such as the country seen as treating workers unfairly, had set Act 446 as a precondition to bring in foreign workers into the country.

KLANG, March 5 The government is drawing up a special blueprint for the construction of centralised labour quarters (CLQ) in meeting the requirements and standards of the Emergency Ordinance (Worker’s Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities) 2021 (Act 446) that was gazetted on February 17.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M Saravanan said among aspects to be improved in the blueprint that would be out soon is the use of fireproof walls as an additional security feature and making access to lockers mandatory especially for foreign workers.

PDRM is responsible for exercising control over local infected areas with assistance from the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), Civil Defence Force (CDF), and the People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA). Entry and exit routes of MCO areas are closed and controlled by PDRM.
Residents in the MCO area are NOT ALLOWED to leave their respective homes/residences WITH THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS:
ONLY TWO (2) people per household are ALLOWED to go out to acquire essential supplies such as food, medicine, dietary supplements and other basic necessities within a 10 km radius of their residence, or to the nearest place if the items are not available within 10 km radius; and
