Scientists from agriculture and allied sectors shared information with the participating farmers about modern techniques to be adopted in Crop Husbandry, Apiculture, Mushroom Cultivation, Kitchen gardening and backyard poultry rearing. They were also informed about various Centrally Sponsored Schemes of agriculture sector and incentives available under these schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC termed agriculture as the backbone of the country’s economy and appealed all the participating farmers to come forward and avail the technical know how being provided to them by the department through qualified agriculture technocrats.
He visited the stalls set up by the department and allied sectors and interacted with the farmers. He appealed the people to be in close rapport with the experts of agriculture and horticulture department and avail benefits of modern technology.

JAMMU, Feb 26: Principal Secretary Power Development Department (PDD), Rohit Kansal today chaired a meeting to review the financial and physical progress on the ongoing Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) of Power Department in Jammu and Kashmir.

JAMMU, Feb 24: Concerned over the failure of the departments in making available accurate and reliable information in the public domain through their respective websites, the Government of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has issued first-ever Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for continuous and concurrent updation of official websites.
In the month of January this year, the General Administration Department (GAD) issued a circular highlighting continuous non-adherence to the repeated instructions issued since 2017 regarding regular updation of departmental websites.

Investing in human capital through interventions in nutrition, health, and education is critical for sustainable growth. But India’s human capital indicators remain low. In the World Bank’s Human Capital Index, the country ranked 116th. The National Family Health Survey-5 for 2019-20 shows that malnutrition indicators stagnated or declined in most States. The National Achievement Survey 2017 and the Annual Status of Education Report 2018 show poor learning outcomes. In addition, there is little convergence across States. This is a cause of concern as these statistics could worsen due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
