PUSHING THE TRANSITION
Long before arriving in the NCAA’s Division II ranks, Reece was mentored by an expert marksman his father. Tony Reece was a 1983 NJCAA All-American midfielder at SUNY Cobleskill who later played at Cornell under coach Richie Moran’s leadership from 1984-85. Amidst a lacrosse legacy and years of lobbying by his father, Bryce Reece began playing with Mount Laurel’s youth program when he was 12.
“My father was my biggest inspiration for playing and why I want to be successful in the sport,” Reece said. “I continue to play the sport today because of him and others from my hometown who believe in me.”

Trey Bradford, Gabe Clark and Josh Hughes will never forget the events that unfolded at a tournament in Kissimmee, Fla., last July. They were teammates for True Lacrosse, competing in one of the first summer club lacrosse tournaments after the COVID-19 shutdown.

Quality feeds set the foundations for successful game season The cancellation and suspension of the 2020 shooting season as a result of the pandemic affected the economics of all game rearers. Now the focus has to be on careful preparation for a successful 2021 season according to Myles Jones, Game Feeds Specialist with Harpers Feeds. Myles says for many businesses the truncated season was the worst possible outcome having incurred the cost and effort of rearing and releasing the birds and then being unable to shoot them. The short season means that we are now seeing an increased demand for game shooting with many commercial shoots being fully booked already for the coming season. However, it is the game rearers that have come under pressure recently with last minute shortages of gas supply and the increasing costs of rearing equipment and materials, all of which add to the costs of rearing poults.

You may not know it, but lacrosse has a professional league called the Premier Lacrosse League, which merged with Major League Lacrosse late last year. The PLL has been active since 2019 and quite a few Syracuse players feature in the league. Scott Ratliff, Sergio Salcido, Randy Staats, Joel White, John Galloway, and Matt Abbott are the former Orange players who are currently on a PLL roster.
Three more Syracuse players joined them on Sunday night, marking the first time that the Orange had players selected in the PLL Draft. Peter Dearth, Stephen Rehfuss, and Jamie Trimboli all heard their names called to join the highest level of lacrosse.
