City Works Eatery, 19 N. Tejon St., a restaurant project by Sam and Kathy Guadagnoli in the heart of downtown, is taking shape with a planned opening in early April.
According to general manager Phil Duhon, there will be eight food concepts. “Plus, there’s a 50s ice cream parlor inside the motorcycle museum and two bars on the upper and lower levels with a huge upper-level patio,” he said.
Concepts planned for the 28,000-square-foot space include a deli and breakfast; an egg roll; a mac and cheese; wings and chicken sandwiches; a salads and smoothie bar; a ramen noodles; a street taco and a barbecue.
David Cook, co-owner of Gather Food Studio & Spice Shop, 2011 W. Colorado Ave., won the 2020 Mumbo Jumbo Gumbo Cook-Off in Manitou Springs. But, because of the pandemic, the event is on hold this year and Cook can’t defend his title. Not to be deterred, he will do a free livestream Geaux Gumbo cooking class at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
“I’ll be demonstrating the recipe I made for the contest and the cornbread I served with it,” he said. “We (Cortney Smith, co-owner of the studio, will join Cook) are doing the event to promote art and culinary in our Springs community.”

This free guided tour will take you to places generally closed to the public and give you a peek at parts of the vast historic car collection that no one sees.
The name Gilmore has a rich Kalamazoo history and the past is kept alive at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners. It is North America s largest auto museum, with a collection of over 400 vehicles. Like any museum, not everything can be on display at once; there are many artifacts, exotic items and exhibits that are tucked away behind the scenes. Tuesdays this Winter, you can get exclusive access to view portions of Gilmore s car and motorcycle collections that are typically unavailable to the public during winter months.

Motorcycle Mecca in Austria burns
A bad news surprised motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the world: the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum – the motorcycle museum located on the border between Italy and Austria – was destroyed in a fire on monday night.
The fire broke out just before 5am, destroying pretty much the totality of the collection hosted in the museum, fortunately without harming any employees.
The flames began to spread and, according to local media, would have started right from the Top Mountain Crosspoint, the futuristic multifunctional building that also houses the beautiful museum of vintage motorcycles.
About a hundred firefighters from the area intervened on the spot, but the modern 3,000 square meter structure, made mostly of wood, couldn’t be savaged.

From the storming at America s Capitol to the escalation of Covid-19, 2021 has certainly kicked off with a hiss and a roar, and a fire at one of Europe s best automotive museums has only added to this.
Located in Hochgurgl, Austria, the TOP Motorcycle Museum housed over 200 classic motorcycles, as well as a few extremely rare cars, and was left a smoldering wreck after the blaze passed through.
According to a local report, the fire started at around four in the morning, and quickly spread around the wooden building, making it almost impossible to battle. The fact that the museum is located in a snowy alpine region only hampered fire fighter s attempts to put it out.
