BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team starts from third on the grid and claims first top-six result for new BMW M 1000 RR in the opening race of 2021 WorldSBK.

Making its race debut in the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK), the new BMW M 1000 RR claimed a top-six result on the first attempt. Tom Sykes (GBR) from the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team ended race one at MotorLand Aragón in sixth place, only two seconds from a podium position. The Spanish circuit is hosting the opening round of the 2021 WorldSBK season.

McLaren confirms that the Sabre is their most powerful non-hybrid to date. A 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 824 horsepower and 590 lb-ft, outmuscling the Elva. With so much power on tap and a low curb weight thanks to its Senna underpinnings, the Sabre hits a top speed of 218 mph, making it the fastest two-seat McLaren of all time.
There s no word on pricing, but we expect the Sabre to cost much more than the Senna, which originally sold for $1.43 million when it was new. New owners Dorilton Capital have been undertaking a review of the business since taking over from the Williams family in August with a view of restructuring and strengthening departments across the board.
They have selected Capito – with four decades of motorsport and automotive experience, to lead the team into a new era, with the German taking full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the company from February 1 2021.

Williams have made two appointments, with Jost Capito made their new CEO. Simon Roberts will retain the role of Team Principal for 2021.
Williams have made some changes at management level ahead of 2021, as new owners Dorilton Capital start the task of moving the team up the grid.
With the Williams family selling up earlier this summer, Dorilton appointed Simon Roberts as interim Team Principal in the wake of Claire Williams’ departure. Roberts will now retain that role on a fulltime basis for 2021.
Speaking over the Abu Dhabi weekend, Roberts said that the path upwards for the team as defined by Claire Williams is being stuck to be the new owners.
