Select Monomoy grades move to remote learning, Barnstable schools resume in-person classes

Monomoy Regional School District officials announced Monday students in grades 7 through 12 will switch fully to remote learning for the near future due to several cases of COVID-19 among the school community. There are two cases at Monomoy Regional Middle School and two cases at Monomoy Regional High School, with a third pending, Joy Jordan, district community engagement coordinator, said in a statement Monday. While the spread does not appear to have happened at school, there are now too many cases at our high school to have sufficient staffing to operate in person, Monomoy Regional School Superintendent Scott Carpenter said in the statement.
