A 19-year veteran police officer in New Jersey turned his own home into a meth lab, authorities said.
Christopher Walls, 50, was arrested in Long Branch, N.J. this weekend after police discovered the drug den inside his house on West End Ave. near Hoey St., the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said Sunday.
Cops responded to a domestic disturbance call at his home just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday, officials said. While there, officers were told by another resident that Walls was “involved in suspicious narcotics activity.”
A New Jersey State Police Hazmat Unit arrived and discovered meth lab tools and chemicals in the basement, as well as in a shed, authorities said. Investigators also found several books about making meth, explosives and poison in the house.
