MANALAPAN – Two people from Middlesex County were killed in a Manalapan crash this weekend, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor s Office.
The incident happened at approximately 9:31 p.m. on Saturday when Manalapan police responded to a single motor vehicle crash on Route 9 north, just south of Smallwood Lane, the MCPO said.
The investigation by the Monmouth County SCART Team and Manalapan Police Department revealed that a 2004 Infiniti G35 was traveling northbound when the driver lost control and left the roadway, prosecutors said.

The vehicle collided with a curb, utility pole and a guiderail before to coming to a final stop in a wooded area approximately 100 yards from where the vehicle left the roadway, prosecutors said.

A probation officer who previously admitted sexually assaulting a woman he supervised while she was in drug court and threatening to send her to jail if she resisted was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in state prison, officials said.
Henry C. Cirignano, 48, of Wall Township, an 18-year veteran of the New Jersey State Probation Department in the Vicinage of Monmouth, pleaded guilty on February 24, 2020 to three counts of second degree sexual assault by coercion, and one count of second degree official misconduct, according to a statement from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
A former Monmouth County probation officer is heading to prison for the next decade after being sentenced Thursday for sexually assaulting a woman he was supposed to be supervising on Drug Court probation and for making false representations to the Court, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni.
Henry Cirignano, 48, of Wall Township, who was an 18-year veteran of the New Jersey State Probation Department in Monmouth, was sentenced by Ocean County Presiding Criminal Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels in Toms River.
As part of this sentence, Cirignano has to serve 6 years, 9 months and 20 days before becoming eligible for any release on parole.
Shots fired outside restaurant at Monmouth Mall, police say
EATONTOWN Law enforcement have asked for any help tracking down the people involved in shots fired outside one of the restaurants at Monmouth Mall over the weekend.
Eatontown Police responded to a 911 call from the T.G.I. Fridays restaurant along Route 35 on the mall property, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor s Office.
Police said witnesses told them that two groups had exited the restaurant, after which two shots were fired and then two cars sped from the parking lot.
No injuries had been reported as of Sunday night. Police did not have further details about the number of people involved or descriptions of either vehicle.
