BOONTON Family and friends mourned the death of a father two months after his wife and 11-year-old son accidentally drowned in the Rockaway River. On Tuesday, Boonton s Islamic community remembered the life of Zeeshan Hamayun, who died after a battle with cancer. Among those mourning was his 6-year-old son, Unais Ahmed, who in February watched as his mother, Warda Syed, tried to save her older son, Uzair Ahmed, from drowning in the river.  Unais cries at the scene of the accident alerted authorities to the incident.  It s just so painful to see a family have two [incidents ofdeaths in basically 60 days, said Gul Khan, coordinator for the Morris County Islamic Centers and founder of Different Faiths One Family. It s been very tough for the community and their family, especially. It s painful.

Florham Park NJ: Ex-employee at firm stole $800K from musicians

The former account manager at a Florham Park business management firm admitted Tuesday to stealing more than $800,000 from two musician clients and using the money to buy personal items and pay off her bills.  Carla Tiago, 44, used personal information from two of the company s clients, identified only as B.B and J.L., to apply for two credit cards, one in each of their names, the former Plainfield woman said during a virtual hearing before a state judge in Morris County. Tiago, who worked at Piemonte & Liebhauser on Vreeland Road, said she used the credit card information to make online purchases between January 2018 and July 2019. She did not specify what she paid for but described the expenses as bills and necessities.

Ian Schweizer, 38, has been charged with simple assault for attempting to cause “bodily injury to another,” according to Sussex County Sheriff’s records. He is currently in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Institute ahead of a Superior Court hearing. In 2017, a woman accused Schweizer of attacking her outside a bar. Troopers arrested him, but the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office decided there was not enough evidence to bring to court, which led both sides to accuse the other of misconduct.
