HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - One man is in jail after Decatur police responded to a shooting near 5th Avenue in Decatur on February 28.
Officers tell WAFF 48 when they arrived on the scene they discovered shots had been fired at the home following an altercation that took place between the suspect and the victim.

A Decatur man has been arrested after police said he fired gunshots at a home.
James Edward Fletcher Jr., 39, was arrested Friday and charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and reckless endangerment, according to the Decatur Police Department.
Decatur police officers on Feb. 28 responded to call about a shooting in the 600 block of 5th Avenue SW. Officers found shots had been fired at a residence following an apparent altercation between Fletcher and a victim, police said.
Fletcher was taken to the Morgan County Correctional Facility with a $36,000 bond.

Two Decatur men face kidnapping charges in connection with an incident from January.
Michael Leon Baker, 36, and John Pointer III, 38, were arrested and taken to the Morgan County Correctional Facility with bonds of $150,000, the Decatur Police Department announced Monday.
Police said a handcuffed man entered a business on Jan. 18 and said he had been kidnapped and beaten at a residence in the 700 block of Lafayette Street.
Baker and Pointer were developed as suspects and arrested, police said.
