Pandemic scrubs this year s Prairieland Chautauqua

The pandemic’s lingering grip has prompted cancellation of this year’s Prairieland Chautauqua.
Organizers confirmed Monday that the popular Jacksonville event has been scrubbed for the second year in a row.
Last year would have marked the 22nd presentation of Prairieland Chautauqua, which usually takes place during Labor Day weekend.
Unlike last year, when large crowds were prohibited as COVID-19 spread across Illinois, there is some hope those restrictions will be eased this summer. Still, pulling together performers is not an overnight occurrence and represents a significant investment of time and money.
