Former investment banker John Wylie has been working with a group of industry superannuation funds to consider making a play for Tabcorp and its wagering business.
It is understood Wylieâs Tanarra Capital has been putting together a syndicate to try to unlock value at Tabcorp, including buying and breaking up the company.

Tanarra is a Tabcorp shareholder and Wylie has previously said there is âa lot of latent value in the companyâ and âan interesting opportunity thereâ.
The talks have been live in recent weeks, but sources said there was no certainty Wylieâs consortium would be able to achieve its goal.
