Mon Eh Ton! returning to Beacon to mark 100th anniversary of Scottish Cup triumph

THE curtain s coming up on a stage show to commemorate the centenary of Morton s most famous achievement. Gourock playwright David Carswell is bringing back his popular comedy drama Mon Eh Ton! to the Beacon Arts Centre in April 2022 to mark the 100th anniversary of the club s Scottish Cup triumph. The theatre production follows Ton s history since it was founded in 1874 by shares the highs and lows of five fans through the decades. The production originally made its stage debut in 2017. Now it is coming back by popular demand. David told the Tele: We decided to bring back the play to commemorate this big moment in the club s history.

Morton chief executive Dave MacKinnon to leave club

Dave MacKinnon MORTON chief executive Dave MacKinnon is leaving the club. Ton announced this morning that the 64-year-old will move on from his post at Cappielow following this weekend s game against Arbroath. In a short statement Morton said: We can confirm that David Mackinnon is leaving his post as chief executive officer. We thank him for his efforts over the last 21 months during unprecedented difficulties for all Scottish clubs and wish him well for his future endeavours. Doubt had been cast on Mr MacKinnon s future when the Tele recently revealed the existence of an explosive internal document relating to the CEO role and relationships at the club.

MORTON bosses have called in police over the emergence of an explosive leaked document which slams fans investment group chiefs, criticises a club director, makes financial demands and threatens to embarrass the Rae family. A copy of the two-page paper, also now at the centre of a Cappielow probe, has been passed to the Telegraph. The document is unsigned and not marked as confidential but it lists a series of points in connection with the chief executive role and relationships at the club. The Tele contacted both the club and Ton CEO Dave MacKinnon in a bid to establish the origin and author of the document.
