The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel. A memorial service for Laura LaVerne Heitmeyer, 81, of Sedalia, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 14 at Heckart Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no formal services for Jack Cleveland Ream, 85, of Urich. Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.

Funeral Announcements for February 25, 2021 The family of Steven Higdon Hurt, 68, of Sedalia, will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 at Heckart Funeral Home. Friends may pay their respects and sign the guest book between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held at Providence Cemetery. Funeral services for Alvin Gene Cook, 78, of Sedalia, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at Heckart Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, with military honors by the U.S. Air Force and VFW Post 2591. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

CECIL L LUJIN

Cecil L. Lujin, 88 of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Rest Haven Nursing Home. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no visitation and graveside services will be limited to family members on Friday December 18 at Calvary Cemetery. He was born Feb. 28, 1932 in Sedalia, Mo., son of Floyd and Ernestine (Lear) Lujin. In Nortonville, Kan., he was married to Agnes Corpstein, who died June 6, 2003. Mr. Lujin was raised and educated in Sedalia. He graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1949, the same year he, along with Dennis Semkin, Bob Gardner, and Jim Johnston, was part of the school’s state champion debate team. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Missouri in 1953.
