Oregon City garden tour timed for Mother s Day
Clackamas
County Master Gardener Lorie Griffith and award-winning blues musician Rae Gordon are organizing a May 8 garden tour in Oregon City timed to attract mothers and grandmothers.
Gordon s band will play at 3 p.m. at the tour s ending location, the former Singer Hill Café where Three Rivers Artist Guild members are hosting a Spring Fling Art Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a great place for people to buy artistic gifts for mom, Gordon said. Attendees will be given their gift bag of discounts, special offers from local businesses, bakery goods from local merchants and then will be given the map at their tour start time.

Film Trail sign to be installed on Oregon City promenade December 16 2020
Oregon City s Historic Review Board voted
unanimously on Dec. 10 to approve the installation of a laminate sign on the McLoughlin Promenade overlooking the Blue Heron paper mill, honoring the city s contributions to film history. Twilight and Grimm scenes were filmed at the mill, and the McLoughlin Promenade was used to film several scenes in other TV shows and movies. The 24-by-19-inch and 20-by-8-inch signs consist of two panels that will be installed on a post in the Oregon City park.
Oregon City s Economic Development Department worked with the Oregon Film Office to get the city s approval to include the city on the Oregon Film Trail. The statewide network of recognizable trail markers seeks to retell stories and celebrate Oregon s rich contribution to filmmaking since 1904.
