Two people died in a head-on crash when their vehicle was struck by a pickup on Thursday, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred at about 7:27 p.m. on U.S. Highway 52, 1 mile southeast of Anamoose, N.D.
The patrol said a 29-year-old Harvey, N.D., man was traveling northwest on the two-lane highway in a 2016 Ford F-150 when he entered the opposite lane to pass a semi-truck. While attempting to pass the semi-truck, the driver struck a 2006 Pontiac Montana minivan head-on.
The minivan rolled into the south ditch, coming to rest on its side; the pickup remained on the highway. The minivan driver, a 49-year-old woman from Martin, N.D., and her passenger, a 55-year-old man from Martin, were dead at the scene, the patrol said.
