Getting information from staff on how her mom was doing was hit and miss at best, she said. Less than a week after the surgery, Trowell called to check on her mom and was told she had another fall. They told me she had to get an X-ray. They found her on the floor Saturday night but they never called me to tell me about it. Then I couldn t get the X-ray results, Trowell said.
Plans were being made to send her back to the hospital in The Pas, but the outbreak prevented that. Instead, the decision was made to transfer her to Swan River, about 150 kilometres south of The Pas, at the family s request.

Lowest single-day spike since October
Meanwhile, public health officials announced 89 new cases Monday the lowest increase since Oct. 19, when 80 new cases were reported.
Nearly half of the new cases announced Monday 42 are in the Northern Health Region. There are 22 new cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region, 18 in the Winnipeg health region, four in the Southern Health region and three in the Prairie Mountain Health region.
There are 3,466 active cases in the province, a news release said, although health officials have said that number is inflated by a data backlog.
A woman in her 80s, from the Interlake–Eastern health region, is linked to the outbreak at the Beausejour Hospital. Another woman in her 80s, from the Southern Health region, is linked to the outbreak at Heritage Life Personal Care Home.
The other five deaths are from the Winnipeg health region, including two women in their 90s linked to the outbreak at the Charleswood Care Centre. A woman in her 70s is linked to the outbreak at the Southeast Personal Care Home while a woman in her 90s is linked to the outbreak at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home, and another woman in her 90s is linked to the outbreak at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg.

Manitoba government officials presented the governance structure of the COVID-19 vaccine implementation task force during a technical briefing Tuesday afternoon but aside from identifying the task force s co-leads, no other key members were specifically named.
