Police arrived on the scene and noticed a female leaving the residence. She stated that the male had assaulted her and that she believed he had a firearm in the residence. MFNPS Sandy Bay Detachment Officers, along with the Officers from the Crime reduction Team (CRT), and Officers from the Amaranth RCMP, surrounded the home as the male was refusing to exit the residence and was observed holding a firearm.

Search warrant locates guns and drugs in Sandy Bay

Article content Manitoba First Nations Police Service Officers on general patrol, along with the assistance of Crime Reduction Team (C.R.T.) Officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Ridge Road South, in the community of Sandy Bay First Nation on December 16, 2020. An adult female and two adult males were located inside the residence and were immediately taken into custody. Upon searching the subjects and the residence, officers located and seized over $2,500.00 in Canadian currency, 24 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, three pellet (BB) guns, a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle, several different types of ammunition, three scales, hundreds of unused baggies, an altered cattle prod (conducted energy weapon), two cans of bear mace, and several other items related to drug trafficking.
