Rohini Sindhuri leaves meeting of Assembly panel Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri on Tuesday sought permission from the chair and excused herself from a meeting of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly’s Committee on Papers Laid on the Table, stating that the agenda of the day did not pertain to her office. The committee chairman and K.R.Nagar MLA, S.R. Mahesh of the Janata Dal (Secular), who had a standoff with her in the past, did not mince words when he said that she could leave if she had other important work following which the Deputy Commissioner left the hall.

SSLC, 2nd PU classes to resume from tomorrow

Classrooms cleaned and sanitised; consent letter from parents mandatory Mysore/Mysuru: After a gap of nearly nine months, school and college managements are preparing to meet all the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to resume offline classes for SSLC and Second PUC from tomorrow (Jan.1). Meanwhile, some parents are worried to send their wards to schools.     Educational institutions that  were shut in March this year due to COVID-19 pandemic are reopening tomorrow. Class 10 and 12 will be the first to commence. Vidyagama programme is being launched for students of classes 6 to 9 and this will be under the direct supervision of the  District Administration. 

Green Buds company fraud case: Minister directs DC to take action

Bengaluru: Following complaints that Green Buds Agro Company has cheated scores of farmers in Mysuru region, Revenue Minister R. Ashok has directed Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri to take necessary action in this regard. On Friday, farmer leader from Mysuru Kurubur Shanthakumar met R. Ashok at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru and submitted a memorandum seeking justice to farmers who were cheated by Green Buds Agro company in Mysuru. Claiming that the company had cheated more than 2 lakh investors to the tune of crores of rupees, Shanthakumar explained the Minister about the plight of the cheated farmers.  He noted that the Government in 2016, following a CID probe into the matter, had ordered the then Assistant Commissioner of Mysuru to auction the properties of the company and return the money thus collected to the investors.
