COLONEL CASEY P. DODDS Col Casey P. Dodds is the Vice Commander of the 910th Airlift Wing, Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio. The wing is comprised of more than 1200 Air Force Reserve members and is equipped with eight C-130H2 aircraft. The wing trains and employs the C-130 Hercules globally on medium range airlift, tactical airland and airdrop, Modular Aerial Spray System, and Aeromedical Evacuation missions. Col Dodds is a native of Longmont, Colo. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management from Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colo. and was commissioned through the University of Colorado, Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 1992. After graduating from Undergraduate Missile Training in 1993, he served as a Deputy Combat Crew Commander until attending Undergraduate Navigator Training. JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas Staff Sgt. Taylor Mogford, 433rd Logistics Readiness Squadron individual protective equipment supervisor, here, and his team presented their ideas for revamping logistics training at the virtual 2021 Logistics Officer Association Symposium, April 2. During the 2019 LOA Symposium, the Aether Sprint program provided a platform where a source team of Airmen tackled topics originating from the “What frustrates you most about Air Force logistics?” concept. According to LOA Symposium website, Aether Sprint is a platform for logistics Airmen (maintenance, munitions, and logistics readiness) to have a voice and solve day-to-day issues with Air Force-wide impacts. While deployed in 2020, Mogford assembled a team of Reserve and active-duty members who chose to solve the topic of “Reduction of waste and time for training and certification for the Logistic Airman.”

Westover to get new wing commander: Colonel with 33 years of military experience

(Tribune News Service)  A colonel with 33 years of experience in the Air Force and Air Reserve, including flying combat missions during Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom, will become the new commander of the Reserve’s 439th Airlift Wing. Col. Joseph D. Janik, who began work at Westover Air Reserve Base this week, will officially assume command of the wing in a ceremony scheduled for May 1, said Lt. Kristine MacDonald, public affairs officer for the wing. Janik succeeds Col. Craig C. Peters, who served as Westover’s commander for the past two years. Peters, whose last day at work was Tuesday, is retiring after a 37-year career in the military, she said. Peters, who grew up in West Springfield, and his wife, Cathie, a graduate of Chicopee High School, have ties to Western Massachusetts.
