City man facing gun charges | News, Sports, Jobs

YOUNGSTOWN Aaron C. Keys, 29, arrested Monday evening after gunfire was heard on East Auburndale Avenue, was arraigned Wednesday on several gun charges. During a hearing in Youngstown Municipal Court, Keys pleaded not guilty to discharging a firearm in city limits. No plea was required on felony charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and carrying concealed weapons. Police were patrolling at the intersection of South and Lucius avenues when officers heard a gunshot in the 300 block of East Auburndale Avenue. They turned onto Auburndale and saw Keys walking down the street. Keys began to run through back yards, jumping a fence on Auburndale and continuing a couple blocks south.

Two are arraigned in city murder cases | News, Sports, Jobs

YOUNGSTOWN Erik E. Jenkins, 25, of Columbus, was arraigned Tuesday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court in connection with the March 4 murder of Thomas C. Williams, 34, and the wounding of a security guard. The shooting took place in the parking lot of King’s Court tavern, 3223 South Ave. Magistrate Dominic DeLaurentis of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court kept Jenkins’ $1 million bond in place after Jenkins pleaded not guilty by video from the Mahoning County jail. Jenkins was indicted on murder, attempted murder and felonious assault in a case that took a surprising turn when authorities revealed that Jenkins is charged in Williams’ death, but it may not have been his gunshots that killed Williams.
