WARREN The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber is undertaking a wage and benefits survey it says can help existing businesses keep talented workers and for companies considering the local market, become familiar with the labor pool.
The survey asks for information about the company, including industry and contact, type of benefits offered and starting and median wages for a variety of occupations.
“It’s really important for companies to be part of this survey so we can get accurate data back, so we can say in our market here is what the going wage is for a specific occupation … here is what the benefits are and by using all of that data combined, it will help the company develop a compensation package that will then help them keep good workers or help them attract new workers,” said Michelle Phillips, director of research for the chamber.

WARREN The Western Reserve Port Authority and the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber have partnered to launch an electronic survey on air travel activity among local businesses.
Information from the survey to determine pre- and anticipated post-pandemic air passenger needs will be used by the port authority in its effort to secure the right airline to serve the local market at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.
The port authority, which manages the airport in Vienna, asked the chamber to design and deploy the survey. It has been exploring options to restore service to the airport.
“This will ensure the community has a voice in determining the best air passenger service provider for the region. We want to accommodate our business leaders, leisure passengers and future growth opportunities in the (Mahoning) Valley by supplying daily air passenger flights to destinations most in-demand,” said John Moliterno, port authority CEO.
