Cottonwood Man Arrested For DUI And Assaulting A YCSO Deputy
A Cottonwood man was arrested last week after he assaulted a Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputy when trying to help Cottonwood Police with a vehicle collision. Officers were called to the area of State Route 260 and Fir Street at around 8:49 p.m. for a traffic accident back on December 8th. The collision involved two vehicles and there was a sheriff’s deputy at the intersection as the crash occurred. As the deputy was assessing the accident, one of the drivers got back into his vehicle as he was going to drive off. The deputy made contact with the driver who then swung at the deputy, hitting him in the face. The deputy then used physical force to arrest 22-year-old Zane Lodmell-Sarrett of Cottonwood. Investigators say Zane failed to stop for a red light and then turned into oncoming traffic causing the accident. Zane was taken to Verde Valley Medical Center for treatment of a head injury. While there Za
