YORK COUNTY, S.C. Police are asking for the public’s help locating a driver who fatally struck a man in York County, South Carolina early Wednesday morning.
York Police responded to Railroad Avenue, nearby Settelmeyer Street, around 2:15 a.m. after receiving a call about a man lying in the roadway. Upon arrival, officers determined the man, who appeared to be in his mid-twenties, had been struck by a vehicle.
The victim was transported to the local hospital where he later died due to his injuries. The victim’s name has not been released.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance to locate the driver of a silver sedan, possibly a Toyota, that struck the male victim who was already lying in the roadway. The driver has been described as a white man with black spiked hair and a beard.
Ashanti Morgan, 20, was found deceased from a gunshot wound at the scene.

Update, 3 p.m.: The York County Coroner s Office has identified the victim as Ashanti Morgan, 20, from the 900 block of Belaire Lane, York.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.
