IT is yet another significant sign of the times that two of the three models competing for this year’s World Car of the Year award are electric, and the third competitor is a hybrid.
The top three choices for this year reflect not just the blistering pace of change towards electrification but the widening palette of choice from which to choose.
The trio in contention for World Car of the Year are the electric Honda-e, Volkswagen ID.4 and the hybrid Toyota Yaris, sales of which are mostly hybrid.
With increasing emphasis focussed on city motors the Urban car section will draw a lot of attention. Honda have two competitors, the Honda-e and Jazz/Fit, battling it out against the Yaris.
