WASHINGTON, D.C., USA More than $1 million in emergency funding has been set aside for Public Housing Authorities, including the Lockport Housing Authority.
On Tuesday, U.S. Majority Leader Charles Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced the Lockport Housing Authority will receive $250,000. The funding was allocated through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. It will help local housing authorities increase health and safety measures for public housing residents by purchasing security equipment, surveillance cameras, lighting, and carbon monoxide detectors.

A former high-ranking Trump official has agreed to serve a four-year bar from holding a federal job after she admitted to using her government position to help create a video used by then-President Trump during the GOP nominating convention last year.
Lynne Patton, who had served as a regional administrator at Housing and Urban Development (HUD), agreed to the punishment as part of a settlement with the Office of Special Counsel, which policies the Hatch Act, a federal law that limits the kind of political activities federal employees can be part of.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the city would be adding 10,000 jobs with the newly created City Cleanup Corps.
The first 500 jobs are posted at nyc.gov/ccc with 500 more expected to be added soon. More than 7,700 positions will be posted in July and build to 10,000. Hiring will take place across 10 different City agencies, including the Department of Parks & Recreation (Parks), Department of Transportation (DOT), New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
